Bush picks Paulson to replace resigning Snow

Reuters: Top News: "In a White House Rose Garden announcement, Bush praised Paulson's lifetime of business experience and said he had the ability to explain complicated economic concepts in clear language. The president made clear that Paulson would be pursuing long-standing White House economic policies.

This ought to be good for some laughs. Watching Paulson play Pat trying to explain the logic of tax cuts for the wealthy while the nation's deficits and debt and reach Himalyan heights. Bush's lame duck strategy appears to window dress the policies which the majority of Americans now oppose. Will it work? Doubtful at this late stage of the lame duck's career. -- David R.
